I’m a little late posting tonight. I was trying to get a new freelacing client proposal out. Pray for me, it could be a nice opportunity. We are also having some Internet troubles tonight, that is worse than cable problems!
I wanted to share with you one of my current favorite songs. I enjoy a lot of songs for a lot of different reasons. Some of the songs I like because of the lyrics, some because of the music and some for the background story. This song pulls all three together. If you listen to K-Love I’m sure you have heard “How He Loves Us” from the David Crowder Band.
I was doing a search on YouTube the other day for the song so that I could listen to the lyrics more closely. I found a live show of the David Crowder Band performing the song. I saw in the comments section that someone suggested watching one of the videos in the related videos section to hear a powerful message.
The related video was this one of John Mark McMillan singing How He Loves Us. He is the writer of the song and gave the background of the lyrics. The video is about 10 minutes long. It is worth the watch!
The first verse is:
He is jealous for me,
Loves like a hurricane, I am a tree,
Bending beneath the weight of his wind and mercy.
When all of a sudden,
I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory,
And I realise just how beautiful You are,
And how great Your affections are for me.
Simple message, but so powerful. The song says I am unaware of these affliction eclipsed by glory! Our afflictions are only temporary. We need to stay spiritual minded and focus on the eternal not the temporary.
