Keeping My Eyes On The Prize

Let me start by praising God for the outcome of this special little boy’s surgery.  (I talked about Stellan in this post. )  If you would like to hear the details please check them out here, it looks like things are really looking up for them.

You know that kid that eats all of the undesirable food first before eating the things that she really likes, the teenager that comes home on a Friday afternoon and does all of her homework so that she can fully enjoy her weekend or the mom that makes her children eat in a small huddle on the kitchen floor so that she can vacuum up every last crumb that they drop thus ending the four hour cleaning spree.  In an attempt to see this type person in a positive manner, I would call them goal oriented, and yes I’m sure you can think of other names also, but please keep them to yourself. 😉

I myself tend to be goal oriented, yeah big surprise.  This pretty much comes through in every aspect of my life.  I’ll give you some examples.  Some days of the week are more difficult than others, I’m sure we can agree on that.  Mondays are particularly hard for us.  Monday is a day that I just try to get through and if I do, the prize is the end of the day when I finally have everyone in bed.   Cleaning the house is another one.  It has to be done, I don’t like it, I bear it and get it done, and at last I enjoy a nice clean house at the end of the day.

Selling the house is another one of those things.  We’ve worked very hard and will continue to work hard until the house is sold.  But at the end when the house is sold and we are done with the stress of having to keep the house spotless all day long (with four kids in the house) and we finally get to move on, that will be the prize.  So tonight on our first night of having the house officially listed and on the market, I’ve decided that I am keeping my eyes on the prize.

B4’s dedication was Sunday and she done beautifully and she looked beautiful too!  We were pleasantly surprised to see some family members we haven’t seen in a while.  Enjoy these pictures taken by my brother and notice B3, yeah he was loving being up there!
