Happy New Year!

We had quite a day today!  We left home this morning about 11:00 am and returned home around 6:00 pm.  It was a full day but, I’ll leave that for another post.  Tonight I’m talking about the latter half of the day, tonight was a special night.

Our New Year’s Eve tradition started before we even had kids.  It started as a junk food night just David and I on the couch eating  junk food into the night and ringing in the New Year all sugared up.  It has evolved a bit we’ve still kept the same concept.  We do eat an actual supper now before the big splurge and the whole celebration takes place a little earlier in the night.  The last few years our main attraction of the night has been fondue, as it was tonight.  What could make you happier than ending a year with lots of things dipped in chocolate, well nothing, it’s simply the best way to end a year.  And, that is what we did tonight, chicken fajitas first and then the big finale.

dipping

Strawberries, fresh pineapple, brownies, and marshmellows all dripping with chocolate.

Lots and lots of semi-sweet and milk chocolate with a bit of peanut butter.  Yum!

Everyone enjoyed it.  B4 even got a little taste of a marshmallow.

I’m pretty sure she enjoyed it more than her rice cereal.  After the fondue a bit of sparkling apple cider for everyone to cheers with and about an hour of America’s Funniest Home Videos before shower time.  All the B’s were in the bed by 9:45.  Okay so it wasn’t 12:00, but it was quite a bit later than their normal bedtime at 8:00.

So what are your New Year’s Eve traditions?
