A couple of weeks ago Casey called me before I left work to come home to ask me a couple of questions. I could tell in her voice that it had been another LOOOONG day. I purposed in my heart that when I got home I was going to lift everyone’s spirits. Wait….don’t you do this every afternoon? Yes, I know what you are thinking. David you are a ray of sunshine when you come home from a long day at work….. I wish I was and I pray that I will be more often.
When I cam home the boys were playing in the living room. When I came home the boys for fighting in the living room. I don’t know over what, just arguing over some piddly thing. I told them to put there stuff up we needed to eat and then we were going to have fun. The ever cynical B1 responded, “How do you know we are going to have fun” in his half eye rolled hand on the hip stance. Um, um “Because I brought fun home in my pocket” was my response.
The boys jumped up and down, got the stuff up and ran to the table to sit down. Great, now what am I going to do to have fun. The boys ran and told Casey they were going to have fun after we ate because I brought fun home in my pocket. While at the table Casey looked at me and said, “I hope you have something fun planned”. Contrary to popular belief I am not too quick on my feet. “Because I brought fun home in my pocket” Where in the world did that come from?
Who knows? I can’t remember exactly what we did after we ate. Board game, the Wii, wrestling it really doesn’t matter. The only thing that matters is the boys did have fun! Now when I get home I am met with the question, “Daddy did you bring fun home in your pocket?”
So pray that after a long day for Casey and I that I can continue to bring fun home in my pocket!
