Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.
I love that verse! I think I will use that verse as a pep talk this baseball season. Come on boys, Gird up now thy loins like a man!
Elihu had silenced Job but Job had not conceded to his guilt before God and his friends. God also silences Job and shows him his ignorance. God’s creation the earth and the sea, stands firm and cannot find fault in it. The Lord continues to show Job of his ignorance and guilt him for his current state of mind. He continues that our day (the light) will not last forever just as the night (the dark) will not last forever. Our lives and trials will be as a typical 24-hour period. The day comes, then night, but day comes again.
We question God so many times in our lives just as Job. We see God turn it around on Job to show him his ignorance and ask him questions. We question God, but we have no clue all the He does in a day, hour, or minute. The grace and mercy that He covers us with daily is unbelievable.
