Tonight’s post was inspired by a Facebook friend who was asking for simple healthy recipes to prepare for her family. I too, am always looking for simple healthy recipes and I’m guessing that some of you are in the same boat. I have lots of cookbooks but I’m rarely in the mood to get them out and try to find something so, the most logical place for me to look is, the Internet. The only problem with this is that often you have to do a lot of searching to find something that suits you because there is so much out there to look at. Which brings me to the title of this post. I thought it would be fun and helpful to put a link (in the comment box) to any recipes and/or websites that you like to get recipes from.
I’ll start us off. I like Kraft Foods because they have simple recipes that I can whip up quickly with ingredients that I almost always have on hand. I’m not always hardly ever good about planning out meals ahead of time. I’m trying to get better at this. Okay that’s a lie, I’m probably never going to plan meals on a regular basis so, for me, this site works pretty well because you can put in the ingredients that you have and it will give you recipes to fit.
If I’m planning on doing a little more involved cooking I’ll often head over to The Food Network. I can also look up recipes that I see while watching the Food Network, let’s not forget the whole Kentucky hot brown post.
On the occasions when I want to find something special for the kids I like to check out Family Fun. The have some great ideas for April’s Fools suppers, I’m sooooo all over that!
As for specific recipes, I’ll just share one with you. My kids love these (note to self, you should make these more than once a year). They’re called morning glory muffins, I can make a big batch and they can be breakfast for the whole week.
Now it’s your turn. Please share what you know or have found on the Internet (recipes, websites, etc). I’ve been pretty uninspired with my cooking lately so I could use some new ideas!
