Another Monday mind dump.
Today was the first day of school for Casey and the B’s. B3 started pre-school today too.
Casey sent me a tweet today – “I am thinking of getting shirts made up that say, My dad went to Haiti and all I got was a stomach bug”
Pray for B1 and B4 they were up last night, but seem better today
I enjoyed playing in the backyard with he boys tonight. It made me think back to the kids who have no adult to play with.
We need to find a happy medium between American’s obsession with labels and Haitian’s happiness just to have clothes. I worked beside a Haitian man all week that had a shirt on that read “World’s Best Mom”
Playing monkey in the middle with a trampoline and a racquetball racket is dangerous.
Proverbs 21:13 has been on my mind for the past week.
Proverbs 21:13 “Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.”
I was challenged on our trip not only by the people of Haiti but by the people on the trip.
This is one of my favorite pictures from the trip. We were on the island of Tortuga and I picked one of the boys up and tossed him in the air. He went stiff as a board and the look of terror came across his face. I guess he had never been thrown in the air before. I put him down and he wanted to go again. I did it again and he ran to get his brother. He wanted me to toss him in the air too. After that I was surrounded and needless to say my arms felt like spaghetti. After I told them I couldn’t do it any longer they started jumping on me.
