Mind Dump Monday

Fall has never been my favorite time of year, I could give you a list of reasons why, but the biggest one is the whole getting dark earlier thing.  But since despising one whole season (okay, maybe two, I don’t like winter either) is maybe a bit immature, I’m trying to expand my likes to include fall.  I’ve tried to think of the good things that happen in fall.  So here you go, in no particular order the reasons why I love fall I’m trying to convince myself to like fall.

1.  God paints the landscape- While I’ll probably not anytime soon be one of those “I’m riding to the mountains to look at the leaves” type people I can appreciate the beautiful colors that we see this time of year.  Just to prove (mainly to my husband) that I’m willing to give this whole fall thing a shot I pulled out the camera today to try and capture some of it’s beauty.

Oh yeah, the leaves..ahem here you go.

2. Thanksgiving- I do love this fall holiday.  I love the history behind it, I love that it makes us be more aware of our blessings, and I love turkey and dressing.

3. I was born and married- Yes, I was both born and married in November so I have a lot of fall history I guess you could say.

4.- Pumpkin- Pumpkin spice latte, pumpkin pie, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin bread,…..I love it all.

5.- Soups, stews, and chili- Unlike my husband I’m a big fan of the warm goodness of these dishes and people just look at you strange if you eat soup in the summer, it’s best to save these for the fall.

Well that’s it,  my reasons to try and like fall.  How about you guys, what are your feelings on this time of year?

  1. YAY! I was missing my favorite bloggers posting! 🙂

Fall is by far one of my favorite times of year! The colors, the leaves, the smells of fall (pumpkin, baked goodies, etc), Thanksgiving – my ultimate favorite holiday. The break in the heat from summer.

My Derek was born in this month.

The list is long, I just love it!

  2. God is the Master Artist! The view from my kitchen window is as beautiful as the mountain scenery. Fall is one of my favorite seasons: football, sweater-weather, Thanksgiving, red/yellow/orange colors (my favorite), family gatherings.
