Nothing gets me in the Christmas spirit like the Mebane Christmas Parade. It is one of the only night time parades around and is attending by people from all over the area. I’ve been to other parades and I don’t think they hold a candle to Mebane’s. People start showing up setting up chairs and parking cars a little after lunch time. By 5pm traffic is bumper to bumper downtown and it is hard to get home. Keep in mind the parade doesn’t start until 7. It is usually pretty impossible to find a parking spot. This year we decided to walk the mile downtown so we didn’t have to find a space to park. It was cold out there tonight, but I was sweating when we found a spot.
I was never in a marching band or played an instrument for that matter, but that is my favorite part. This year the parade was led by NC A&T’s marching band.
To my surprise half way through the parade a senior citizen’s marching band came by!
I hope you enjoyed the bands!
