Simplicity

Tonight was David’s work Christmas party.  It’s one of the only times a year that we get all dressed up and mingle with solely adults.  If you remember this post from last year you’ll remember why we didn’t make it then.  The food was good, the company was nice and as usual we were not a recipient of any door prizes.  We didn’t tarry too long at the party this year, that’s not unusual for us though.  I hobbled back to the car with my slightly uncomfortable shoes and we made a stop at Starbucks on the way home.  I’m realizing that as much as I enjoy seeing my hubby get all dressed up and mingling with other people while listening to live jazz music, we’re most comfy riding in our van conversating over peppermint mochas.  Maybe it has something to do with the fact that we aren’t childless very often or maybe it’s just that quiet conversation with my husband about our present and our future that just makes me giddy inside but either way I’m realizing that simplicity is one key to a happy marriage.  Here’s praying that you enjoy a quiet, peaceful weekend.
