27Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;
Have your words gone before you today and represented the Gospel? If someone read a play-by-play of your day today would it read of one who was led by the Holy Spirit? Do we truly live our lives as we believe the words in the Bible? I’m not standing on a high mountain asking everyone these questions with a pointed finger. I would sadly have to answer no to these questions as well.
I heard this passage preached today and it really touched my heart. Stories were told from India, Pakistan and China about Christians being persecuted. The pastor asked some people from the underground churches if they had people around their areas who claimed to be Christians in name only. The foreign pastors burst into laughter. “Why would anyone go through this persecution and not REALLY be a Christian?”
Are we really living our lives by the Bible? Are we being led or are we doing the leading? Are we lifting up ourselves or lifting up Christ?
In 2011 we need to live like we truly believe, like Hell is a real place and Christ is the only way!
