Back in Time

The boys have been wanting Casey and I to tell them stories about when we were little for the past couple of months.  I asked my mom to bring me over some pictures of when I was younger.  She brought them over earlier today and the boys looked through a few of them before I got home.  B1’s response to one of me and my dad at the beach, “Daddy used to be skinny back in the day.”  Thanks B1!

Maybe I will scan some of the pictures in at some point.  Most will stay in the heart shaped candy box my mom brought them over in.  I’m not sure why that is where she keeps them??  Maybe she can shed some light on that one.  B2 asked me a question I had never really thought of, “If you could go back in time which one of these pictures would you go back to?”

I immediately told him none of them.  I was happy where I was at today.  Have I made mistakes in the past?  Sure!  Those mistakes and the lessons that God has let me learn through them is what makes me who I am today.  Would I want to go back and live my life over? No.  I look forward to what God has for me in the future!

What about you?

  1. Why the heart shaped box? I was going to give them to you as a Valentine’s gift. I love you, and looking back through these pictures stirred such sweet memories. There are lots more to come.

  2. I wouldn’t want to go back in time, but if I did, I would only go back if I had the wisdom I do now about certain things.

I’d definitely honor my parents more than I did, and trust my Dad’s decisions were always in my best interest. I’d also not scoff or judge people’s parenting choices. You just don’t know until you’ve been there yourself.
