Tuesday Updates

WE HAVE A 9 YEAR OLD IN THE HOUSE!!

I told Casey yesterday I didn’t feel old when I told people my age, but I do when I tell people I have a 9 year old.  It has been a blessing to see him grow, but a let down when I see my bad habits in him.

I walked in this afternoon and B3 about knocked me down giving me a hug.  Never. gets. old.

I picked B1 up yesterday, on his birthday, with one hand in the air and kissed him on the cheek.  I promised him I would do it every year on his birthday for the next 30 years.  I better start working out.

Spring is in the air!

With Spring comes new beginnings and new opportunities.  I’m looking forward to doors that God is opening and pray I won’t let things get in the way of going forward for Him.

We had 7 in our Sunday night youth class at Church.  That was a blessing!

My brother started his student teaching a couple of weeks ago.  He is teaching High School Math in the mountains.  I pray that he will seek God’s will for the future!

I survived my review last week 🙂

I inquired about a blog that was up for sale today.  I got an e-mail reply almost immediately with a price of $100 – 200k.  Yeah, I think I’ll pass.

The students in my web design & development class have come a long way in a year.  I’m going to miss these kids after the class is over.

How many is too many when it comes to books you are reading at one time?

I have never been a highlighting, writing notes in a book person.  I started with the book Casey and I have been reading together.  I will read and highlight what I thought was important.  Then she reads and we discuss.  It has worked out well so far and probably a habit I will continue in the future.

What are some techniques you use to keep the knowledge you read in books?

Have a great Wednesday!

  1. Sometimes I read it aloud. Sometimes I highlight or make notes in the book, if It’s my personal copy. If I tell someone about a passage or important point it helps me to remember it.
