I Need To Be On What Not To Wear

I have a hard time figuring out what to wear everyday.  Is this strange?  Some days I don’t leave the house.  I take care of my children, cook, and clean.  I get tired of jeans and t-shirts and t-shirts aren’t really meant to last anyway, right?  Some days I do leave the house.  I don’t know what to wear those days either.   I’m an unfashionable mess and I’m trying to avoid the word frumpy.  Don’t get me wrong I don’t put a big emphasis on such things hence the bad fashion sense and the fact that I only shop in the clearance section.  But, I do believe that occasionally stepping the wardrobe up a notch can make one feel a little better or at least more presentable.  My biggest problem, aside from the fact that I have a hard time putting together outfits for myself, is I don’t know where to shop.  I can’t spend a lot of money on clothes but I do want to buy things that will last more than a season and I do think it’s time to buy nicer fabrics than I did in my teenage years.  So my question for tonight is, where do you shop?

  1. Girl! What in the world! I have never seen you in anything other than what is so “fashionable”. I don’t think I have ever seen you in anything frumpy. Now me, that is frumpy!! But ……….that is a whole different issue!:) By the way, I love the pics! the snow outfit and goggles were so funny. However, you never have to worry about getting lost in the snow! They would always be able to spot you!

  2. I shop at Goodwill for all of my skirts (I only wear skirts/dresses). Most of my clothes are hand me downs from friends, but when I do need something, I shop at Ross Dept. Store! I don’t know if you have one near you, we live in the western part of the state.

    Have a blessed day!

  3. Becca, good idea I always forget that we have a Cato here now.

Cynthia, you’re very sweet. Church clothes seem to last a lot longer for me, it’s my everyday clothes that are less than desired.

Andrea, great ideas, I do make trips to Goodwill on occasion with some success. I can’t say that I’ve shopped a great deal at Ross but I certainly will try that. Also, I’m wondering what part of western NC you’re in b/c we need some ideas about good places/interesting places to stay. If you could shoot me an email sometime I would love to pick your brain. cfmorton@gmail.com Thanks everyone!

  4. I love Kohl’s You can get good sales, they always have an addtional amount you can get off and the stuff I have bought from there usually lasts. Let me know one day and we can have a girl’s trip to Kohl’s. Any excuse right?
