To My Husband On Father’s Day,
It’s your ninth year as a father and I’m wondering how you feel. Is your job getting easier? I’m guessing not. I’m guessing that it’s quite a bit harder than that first day that we brought B1 home from the hospital and we looked at each other and thought, “Wow that’s isn’t so hard”. It’s definitely changed from those days when your biggest task after supper was riding two little ones around on your back in the living room while I cleaned the dishes. Yes I know for sure that each year our children measure taller, we pray a little harder. We pray for the words to say, the patience to react and the mercy to hand out.
I know that often your job is taxing and that there is not even a word of praise to be given for what you do. But, please know that you are appreciated and loved. You’re a wonderful father, a loving husband, a protector, a provider, an educator, and a friend. It’s been an amazing journey to walk with you during these stages of parenthood and to see how God has molded you into the father that you are today. The best part is I know that he’s not finished with you yet.
Happy Father’s Day, I Love You!
Happy Father’s Day to all of the fathers out there. And even though I’m sure my dad has never read this blog I would like to take a moment and say “Thank You” to him for all of the years of wisdom, love and support he has passed down over the years. Oh what would our world look like without fathers? I pray that we can raise up generations of men like my father and my husband so that we never have to find out.
