Overheard Tonight

I took B1, B2 and B3 to a local minor league baseball game tonight.  We had a great time and didn’t get back home until pretty late.  B3 would have fell asleep on the bleachers if we would have stayed another minute.  I wanted to share some of the things that the boys said throughout the night.

When we entered they were giving away shirts.  Lady beside shirts, “Would you like a shirt?”  B1 – “No, thanks.”  Lady – “They’re free.”  B1 – “Yes please, I need a small”  OK it doesn’t read as funny as it sounded.   He replied before she could get the word free out of her mouth.

Cheap drinks and a 4 year old bladder makes for spending a lot of time in the bathroom.  Which we all know is not a great place to be.  You spend the entire time walking to the bathroom giving instructions.  Don’t touch anything, do your business quick, Don’t touch anything, Go in, do your business, wash your hands, get out and don’t touch anything.

I had forgotten about the men’s bathroom trough.  For those of you who have never seen one imagine a long trough with a pipe over top of it constantly shooting down water.  B3 walks in and goes over to it and asks me why they have so many places to wash your hands.  After reassuring him that it was not a place to wash your hands I rushed him into a stall.

He had to go back to the bathroom a couple of times.  I think he was just interested in seeing the trough.

I think B2 has a future as a sports announcer.  He repeated all of the player’s names when they came up to bat.  He really enjoyed the rolling of the r’s.

All of the B’s were really concerned with who was going to have to clean up all the peanut shells that everyone was leaving.

B3 kept asking if the game was over while the game was going on.  He also wanted to know when they were going to play for real during the warm-ups.

He always has a problem with mascots and people dressed up in those large costumes.  He still didn’t want to get close to the Chic-Fila cow, but was fine with the mascot.

I think everyone had a great time in their own way.  They’re all different and I love them all for it.  I’m glad God let’s me be along with them!
