When you hear that word what do you think?  If you are a child of the 80’s you think of it as a slang for cool or awesome.  In recent years we have heard that word used regularly as an adjective, “radical Muslim, radical Christian, etc”.

The term radical is relative.  What you see as radical I may seem as normal and vice-versa.  The definition of radical is “Relating to or affecting the fundamental nature of something; far-reaching or thorough.”  After reading that definition do I consider myself a “radical Christian”?  Yes.  I am a fundamental believer and I base my faith straight from the Bible, God’s Word.  Do i live my life as a “radical Christian” 100% of the time.  Unfortunately, no.

When I read about others in the Bible and the faith they practiced I do not consider myself a radical Christian.  Would I be willing to go to jail for my beliefs?  Would I be willing to offer the truth even if that meant upsetting people or not being politically correct?

Let’s think about the disciples and how they gave up everything to follow Jesus.  Is Jesus any less relevant today than He was then?  We serve the same One today who is never changing.  Why do we hold back?  Sorry for the randomness tonight.  I’m just thinking out loud about how we seem to stutter when the world is wanting us to tell them the truth.
