Our vacation last week was lovely. We were able to getaway as a family for some beach time and were even able to make a stop by Patriots Point, which looks out over one of my favorite places to visit. We didn’t actually get to make the trip to Charleston this time, we were at our traveling limit by then, but we did get to see a panorama of the city on the ferry over to Fort Sumter. It really was a great trip. I hope that everyone is able to step out from their normal this year to enjoy a vacation of some sort, I know that it always helps our family. Even if you’re not able to take a vacation, maybe some late evenings outside together enjoying the longer days will give you some much needed recharging time. Look for a post about summer evening activites that we enjoy later this week.
This week we will be headed to Winston Salem for the much anticipated NCHE conference. As David mentioned last week, we’ll be live blogging the conference so that we can share with everyone the great sessions we are able to attend. I wish we could take everyone we know to the conference with us. There is always such a wealth of information and encouragement to be had there. I don’t exaggerate at all when I say that the conference is one thing that helps us get through the school year, second only to lots of prayer. Speaking of prayer could we ask for your prayers as we travel later this week? Also that we can succeed in giving you all some encouragement to help you through the year whether you homeschool or not. If you could pray also that our little B5 would be a cooperative companion since he’ll be joining us this year, that would be great.
Shortly after getting back from the conference we’ll be starting our school year. It’s hard to believe that we will be starting our last year of elementary school and our first year of kindergarten. Time certainly does fly when you’re raising babies!
Might I also take a moment to say “Thank You” for reading our ramblings here on this blog. If you leave comments and we know that you read please believe me when I say that we pray for your families very often and we love you all. If you are reading out there and never commenting I pray that we can offer you a glimpse into our lives that will somehow be an encouragement to you as you are loving and living your own blessings!
Have a great week!
